Privacy
This page explains what Padel Ranked stores when you use the site, why, and for how long. We keep as little as we can: no advertising trackers, no analytics cookies, and no account of any kind unless you sign in on All Ranked to manage a business you own. We send anonymous, cookieless page-view pings to Google Analytics: no cookie is set for it, no identifier is stored, and your IP address is anonymised.
No cookie on this site is for advertising or analytics, and these are all of them. We send anonymous, cookieless page-view pings to Google Analytics: no cookie is set for it, no identifier is stored, and your IP address is anonymised. We count page views ourselves, without cookies: a random session id that your browser forgets when you close the tab, the page, the referring site and your country.
- rk_vid is set the first time you upvote a club — not before: it holds a random identifier, scripts in your browser cannot read it, and it expires after a year; the database never stores the identifier itself, only a one-way hash of it made with a secret that stays on our server, so one visitor can upvote a club once.
- ranked_country is written when you pick a country, or when you open a city or a club: it holds a two-letter country code and, once you have opened a city, that city's name exactly as it appears in the address bar — nothing else — expires after a year, and is what lets the site open where you are.
- On All Ranked, where a business owner signs in, rk_auth_next remembers for a few minutes which page to return you to after a sign-in link, and the sb- cookies keep you signed in for as long as you are.
- Your browser also keeps three values for the current tab only, thrown away when you close it: rk_geo, the country we believe you are in; rk_sid, the random session id our own page-view count uses; and ranked:ad-dismissed:sticky_bottom, written when you close the ad bar so that it stays closed.
When you upvote, write a review, add a club or report a problem, your IP address is hashed with the same server-side secret and only that hash is stored with the entry. We use it to limit abuse and for nothing else. Request logs at our hosting provider may contain IP addresses; those are operational logs we do not analyse.
A review stores the rating, the text, the optional title and the name you type — those appear on the site once the review is published. Your email address is not stored as text: only a one-way hash of it is kept, it is never shown, and we do not use it to send you anything.
When you add a club or report a problem we store what you typed, together with the name and email address you choose to give. Those are never published: we use them to check the submission and, if we need to, to come back to you about it.
Upvotes and the review, add-a-club and report forms are protected by reCAPTCHA v3, a service of Google that runs in your browser to tell people from bots. Google's own privacy policy and terms apply to it.
We count views of a club page and clicks on a club's phone number or website, so an owner can be shown how their listing performs. Those rows carry the club, the language and the hashed IP address — never a name and never the cookie identifier. They are rolled up into daily totals and the raw rows are deleted after 90 days.
The site runs on AWS Amplify and its data is stored with Supabase (PostgreSQL). You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it: use the report form and say what you are asking for. Because almost nothing we keep identifies you, we may need to know which review or submission you mean.
